Freeze Drop Pair to Bulls, Look to Rebound Against Whalers

The Bulls showed why they are atop the Central Division this year as they took both games of their home-and-home series with the La Crosse Freeze this past Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday’s matchup was close with the Bulls leading by only two goals until the 3rd period. The final score for Saturday’s game was 6-0.   La Crosse put forth a good effort in Sunday’s matchup as they fell 4-1.  North Iowa led 2-0 after the first period before Freeze forward Sam Dabrowski knocked in his 10th goal of the season.  It was North Iowa after that however, as forward Marshall Barnes put the game away with two goals of his own, one being an empty net.

The La Crosse Freeze will play host to the Wisconsin Whalers this Friday before traveling to Oregon to complete their two-game series against the Whalers on Saturday.  It will be a critical weekend for both clubs who look to gain ground on the division leading Bulls.  The Freeze, who are currently in second place, sit just three points ahead of their Wisconsin rival Whalers.  Friday’s contest is slated for 2 pm at the Green Island Ice Arena in La Crosse.  Puck drop for Saturday’s matchup will be at 7 pm at the Oregon Ice Arena.
