Freeze stifle Ice Hawks, Look for Repeat Performance this Weekend

Sunday’s trip to Green Island Ice Arena was not a pleasant experience for the Ice Hawks, who fell to the Freeze 5-1.  Forwards Jacob Thousand and Sam Dabrowski each tallied a pair of goals for the Freeze, the other coming from defenseman Toon De Schepper.   Young goaltender Jacob Silverstein was efficient between the pipes, saving 15-16 shots on goal.

The Freeze will travel to Rochester this Saturday and return home Sunday as they look to knock off the Ice Hawks for the second and third games in a row.  Rochester will hope for some home cooking as they seek their second win on the 2016 campaign.  Game time for Saturday’s contest is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Rochester Recreation Center.  Puck drop for Sunday’s matchup will be 12:00 p.m. at Green Island Ice Arena in La Crosse.
