La Crosse impresses in game one of NA3HL Showcase

The annual NA3HL Showcase is underway in Blaine, MN. The yearly event takes place to give players a chance to play in front of college scouts as well as get a taste of a few different teams outside of their region.

The La Crosse Freeze were one of the first teams to get in on the action earlier this morning. Their first opponent in the tournament was the Niagara Falls PowerHawks of the Northeast Division.

Momentum started – and stayed – with La Crosse throughout all three periods outshooting Niagara Falls 25-14 en route to their 8-2 win.

Clayton Lackey has been the Freezeā€™s go-to man on offense all year and that showed in the game today scoring his fourth hat trick of the season. Alec Seeger added two goals of his own and Thomas Magnavite, Laudon Poellinger, and Keaton Caplis also found the back of the net.

Brady Lindauer led the way with three assists while Ethan Bettis, Toon De Schepper, Jacob Garman, and Brandon Ratzloff all finished with two. Magnavite and Flavien Fondadouze each added one.

In net was Will Graves for his 14th game of the season saving 12/14 en route to his ninth win on the season.

On day two the Freeze will play the Great Falls Americans at 3:30pm CT. Great Falls, of the Frontier Division, won 5-1 on day one against the Mid Cities Jr. Stars.
