Matz Awarded 2nd Star of the Week; Eykyn Honorable Mention

Goalie Garrett Matz was awarded 2nd Star of the Week after his great win against the Granite City Lumberjacks of the West Division last Thursday night.  In the contest, Matz gave up one goal but stopped a total of 48 shots on the night.  The previous high for the amount of shots Matz had seen in a game previous to last Thursday night was 27 on October 16th against the Wisconsin Whalers.  On the season Matz is 3-1 with one shutout and a .968 save %.

Forward JP Eykyn received an honorable mention after returning from what was a dry spell on the ice.  Eykyn recorded four total points throughout the sweep over the Lumberjacks including one goal, one assist on Wednesday night and two assists on Thursday night.  On the season Eykyn has a 3-7-10 stat line for a +4.
