In the second period, Steines answered for Wisconsin with a goal at 2:17 with an assist from Rogers. Magnavite answered for the Freeze with a goal at 8:37 with a helper from his linemate Francois. Lackey deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:35 with an assist from Francois. Poellinger netted a goal at 15:54. Francois quickly followed with a goal at 16:32 with helpers from his linemates, Lindauer and Tilmon.
During the third period, Ether answered for Wisconsin with a goal at 17:57 with assists from Hefty and Mcdermott.
The Freeze’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Graves’ big night as he stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced. Graves’ counterpart, Earls, also had a big night, managing to stop 40 of 45, but ultimately fell short.
