Ben Henderson, forward, has been named the 1st Star of the Week in the Central Division by the NA3HL.
Henderson, native of North Branch, MN, had a great three games that spanned between Wednesday, November 25th through Saturday, November 28th.
On the 25th against the Wisconsin Whalers, Henderson was one of two players to score a goal for the Freeze.
Friday night against the Minnesota Flying Aces he had his best game of the weekend. He scored early in the second period to give the Freeze a 3-1 lead. He then was one of the two responsible for an assist on a power-play goal scored by Jerame Scheutzle to give the Freeze back the lead late in the second. He topped the night off with a game-winning goal in overtime to beat the Flying Aces for the first time this season.
On Saturday night Henderson entered the game still riding his high from the night before and proved it by scoring the first of four goals for the Freeze en route to a 4-2 victory.
Throughout the weekend Henderson converted on four goals, one assist for five total points (+2). On the year he has 11 goals (career high) and five assists, just one point from tieing his career high in points, which is 17.
Henderson and the rest of the Freeze players are back in action this Friday night against the Rochester Ice Hawks in La Crosse at the Green Island Ice Arena.
