The NA3HL announced that forward Taylor Trapp and defenseman Matt Wolter were honorable mentions for last weekends play.
Trapp, native of West Salem, WI, has been on a tear as of late. Fresh off an honorable mention for his play in January, Trapp was key in La Crosse's 14-4 victory against the Rochester Ice Hawks last Saturday night. With four points – one goal, three assists – Trapp scored four points in consecutive games for the first time in his junior hockey career. It was also the second time this season he scored three assists in one game, the last coming October 4th against the Chicago Jr. Bulldogs. He now has 11 goals and 14 assists on the season.
Wolter, native of Antigo, WI, joined the scoring party and put up four points of his own, besting Trapp in the goals category with two and assisting on two other goals. The 6-3, 220lb defenseman scored four points for the first time in one game this season and now has nine goals and 21 assists in 21 games played. At this time, Wolter is tied with Jared Bromberg for most goals on the team as a defenseman and ranks second in assists.
