During the first, Caplis opened the scoring for La Crosse with a goal at 5:18 with helpers from Seeger and Ratzloff. Magnavite put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 9:52 with helpers from his linemates, Poellinger and Ratzloff. Seeger scored a goal at 17:48 with assists from De Schepper and Lackey.
During the second, Lackey deposited a goal at 1:17 with helpers from his linemates, Garman and Zukowski. Bryant quickly followed with a goal at 1:49. Burgener quickly followed with a goal at 2:32 with an assist from his teammate Slot. Seeger answered for the Freeze with a goal at 6:18. Zukowski netted a goal at 18:57 with a helper from defenseman Caplis.
During the third, Lackey scored a goal at 17:40 with assists from Caplis and Graves.
La Crosse’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Graves as he stopped 23 of the 24 shots he faced. Graves’ counterpart, Baribeau, also had a big night, managing to stop 46 of 54, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the La Crosse Freeze’s record to (11-3-0-0).
