During the first, Dahlseide opened the scoring for North Iowa with a goal at 7:59 with assists from his linemates, Blackowiak and Sandvig.
In the second, Lackey answered for La Crosse with a goal at 4:23 with a helper from Lindauer. Magnavite deposited a goal at 7:37 with assists from teammates Seeger and De Schepper.
In the third, Magnavite netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:26. Bump answered for the Bulls with a goal at 19:44 with a helper from his linemate Fagerlee.
La Crosse’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Graves’ big night as he stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced. Graves’ counterpart, Cain, also had a big night, managing to stop 29 of 32, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the La Crosse Freeze’s record to (3-0-0-0).
