Andrew Wagner came up big, stopping 26 of 27 shots throughout the game. The La Crosse Freeze took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Danny Toycen.
Danny Toycen did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
In the second, Dabrowski opened the scoring for La Crosse with a goal at 3:54 with helpers from teammates Marquardt and Toycen. Lewis quickly followed with a goal at 5:53 with an assist from defenseman Artuso.
In the third, Toycen answered for the Freeze with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:25 with a helper from Briley.
La Crosse’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Wagner’s big night as he stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced. Wagner’s counterpart, Mcconnell, also had a big night, managing to stop 40 of 42, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the La Crosse Freeze’s record to (27-24-2-0)
