In the first period, Grobstick opened the scoring for Wisconsin with a goal at 4:19 with helpers from his linemates, Richards and Steines.
In the second, Mcdermott netted a goal at 2:20 with assists from his linemates, Gille and Resch. Schultz quickly followed with a goal at 3:33 with a helper from Anderson. Schultz deposited a goal at 13:43 with assists from his linemates, Machusak and Dolan. Motloch quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 14:27 with helpers from teammates Losen and Schultz.
The Freeze’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Wagner’s big night as he stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced. Wagner’s counterpart, Mcconnell, also had a big night, managing to stop 63 of 66, but ultimately fell short.
